Jude Coombs // Four Legs Physiotherapy
Jude graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a BSc(hons) in physiotherapy in 2002.
Having ridden competitively in eventing, showjumping and dressage from a young age Jude had a passion for working with animals.
Following a move to NZ in 2006 and after having a family Jude decided to pursue this long-held ambition. She chose to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy through the University of Liverpool; this is one of the few courses globally offering specialist training for qualified physiotherapists to learn and transfer their skills gained in the human field to animals.
This involved two years of postgraduate study in animal anatomy, biomechanics and pathology as well as animal physiotherapy assessment and treatment techniques. Jude has extensive experience in orthopaedics, manual therapy, sports medicine, rehabilitation and chronic pain management.
She has completed courses in dry needling, primitive reflexes, Mulligan techniques, myofascial release, shoulder assessment and treatment, vestibular assessment and treatment and many more. She has worked both privately and in a hospital environment both in the UK and NZ.
She is registered with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand and is a member of the New Zealand Animal and Veterinary Physiotherapy Association as well as being a Category A (overseas) member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy.
Jude undertakes regular professional development and uses evidence-based medicine to provide the best treatment for your animals. When she is not working Jude loves walking with her husband, 3 children and Labrador, skiing and cycling.
